I have been wrestling with this for quite some time. The lenzwelling.com
blog does lend itself to a Q and A format. I do get a fair number of comments and questions both through the Comments section of the website and via email, but we can do more. That was what my son Andrew believed and so he went to work. He explored the ways to create a podcast. He bought both of us podcast-quality microphones and covers for them. He bought the software to create a professional sounding podcast.
Then we began to exchange content based upon one of the recent blogs. I tended to want to be very terse. He explained that we needed to gain a foothold in the world of podcasts and just introducing myself and beginning to talk would not do it. So, we tried to ground the podcast’s legitimacy in my experience as a physician, researcher, administrator, and healthcare policy commentator as well as the long 15-year history of the blog and my books.
The software available is quite remarkable. You record your blog and it transcribes what it hears. You then edit the transcription and upload the edited audio.
My tech savvy son (he works for Microsoft and is facile with AI) is patiently guiding me through all of this. There is no way I could have done it myself.
We both hope you like what you hear and you’ll come back for future episodes. Our goal is to go deeper into the subjects of the blogs with particular attention to questions we think readers of the blog have.
This is definitely an experiment. Let us know how we did through the Comments section on the blog or at leonard.zwelling@gmail.com.
