The only thing more complicated than the American healthcare system is the system we have evolved to pay for that care. It is indeed like a game of Jenga. Remove one block—alter one healthcare payment method like Medicaid—and the whole system could tumble down.
Most other westernized democracies have some form of socialized medicine insuring that every citizen has access to a doctor when he or she needs one. Not here. Instead, we have a many-tiered, many payer system that seems to be enriching the few and caring poorly for the many.
