A New Prescription Podcast #3: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, and A Day in the Life of a General Practitioner with Dr. Erin Rocchio
The past two podcasts have been focused on how to be a better patient. But, what is it your doctor has to contend with that necessitates your new level of preparedness for each visit?
That’s exactly what we explore in this episode of our podcast.
Seeing patients in a general medical clinic, family practitioners and internists have a great many more hoops to jump through than they used to have. They have to wrestle with the electronic medical record and limits on their time to see patients, while battling with insurance companies to get lab tests and x-ray exams pre-approved and paid for. Even their freedom to choose which medicines to offer their patients is constrained by which drugs their patients’ insurers will cover.
We will look into all of this with Dr. Erin Rocchio a practicing primary care physician from the Cleveland Clinic.
And as a bonus we will discuss President Trump’s controversial choice to head the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
